Edoardo Benato graduated in Law with highest honours from the University of Padua in July 2018, discussing a thesis in Criminal Law entitled "Critical aspects of the prevention and repression of criminal conspiracy to commit crimes of terrorism or subversion" (supervisors Prof. Silvio Riondato and Prof. Maurizio De Acutis).

In November 2019 he was admitted to the PhD course entitled “Diritto dell’Unione Europea e Ordinamenti Nazionali” (XXXV Cycle) at the University of Ferrara, supervisor Prof. Costanza Bernasconi. The main purpose of his study consists in investigating the relationship between Crime Prevention and new technologies - above all biometrics - in the European Criminal Law, in order to prevent terrorism.

He is member of the Scientific Committee of the “Camera degli Avvocati della Riviera del Brenta e del Miranese” and he collaborates on writing scientific articles and short essays about Criminal Law (e.g. Medical Responsibility, art. 162 ter c.p., art. 131 bis c.p., art. 168 bis c.p., art. 580 c.p.).
