Francisco Javier Ansuategui Roig

Francisco Javier Ansuategui Roig is a Member of the Scientific Commitee of Macrocrimes.


Francisco Javier Ansuategui Roig is Full Professor of Philosophy of Law at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He obtained his Doctorate in Law from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 1992, with a thesis on the Doctrinal Origins of Freedom of Speech, under the supervision of Prof. Gregorio Peces-Barba.

His teaching experience spans a wide range of topics including Theory of Law, Fundamental Rights, Philosophy of Law, Theory of Legal Argumentation. He has taught courses and delivered lectures at numerous universities worldwide, contributing significantly to academic discourse in legal philosophy. He has given lectures and seminars in European (Italy, Portugal, France), African (Morocco), and Latin American (Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Chile) universities.

He has been President of the Spanish Society of Legal and Political Philosophy and is an honorary member of the Società Italiana di Filosofia del Diritto.

He has held several leadership roles such as Director of the Human Rights Institute Bartolomé de las Casas and is Editor in Chief of "Derechos y Libertades".
