Víctor Manuel Macías Caro has a Degree in Law from the University of Huelva (2008) and a PhD in Legal Sciences from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (2013) with a dissertation entitled Cultural Rights and Cultural Crimes; in the Light of Constitutional Principles.

He has authored publications on cultural defense, abortion, criminal law during Fascism, public order, financing of terrorism, speech crimes, and several chapters in student textbooks for criminal law.

He is also the translator of a bookand dozens of articles and reports. First Prize Pedro Dorado Montero; of Essays on Criminal Law of the University of Salamanca (2008).

He has been guest researcher in Italy and Germany, interim lecturer at the Pablo de Olavide University from 2013 to 2018 and at the University of Huelva from 2016 to 2018. Since 2018 he is Assistant Professor (profesor ayudante doctor) at the Pablo de Olavide University, specialized in teaching on economic and environmental criminality.

Secretary of the Editorial Committee of Revista Penal (Spain). Member of the Editorial Commitee of Revista Penal México and of the Scientific Committee of the J.M. Bosch Editor’s book series on Derecho penal y Criminología.
